HR can correct a synced person's details directly. Each change is stored as an override, shown next to the Microsoft 365 value, with a per-field link to reset it. HR can also hide a person from the directory, and add people who are not in Microsoft 365 (contractors, for example). The employee is notified when HR changes their record.
