What's new in Intranet Builder 2.2, 2.3 and 2.4
The product guide was written for release 2.1. This article covers what was added in the three releases since. Intranet Builder 2.4 has 47 modules, 39 web parts in six packages, 9 extensions and 5 site templates.
2.4 — the design studio
The design studio sets the look of every web part and extension. It is in both Setup Center and Configuration Manager, so you can choose the design before installation and it is carried in the installation file.

- Ten starting designs: Modern, Vivid, Soft, Glass, Classic, Corporate, Playful and Editorial, plus Midnight and Aurora in dark.
- Web part surface, title style, corner radius, shadow and a second colour for gradients. If a colour is hard to read on a background, a darker shade is used.
- Light or dark themes, background patterns, a pointer effect, title size and font.
- Mega menu designs: lists, cards, tiles, a feature panel and dark.

2.3 — search pages, new web parts and redesigned templates

- Search pages built on PnP Modern Search.
- Redesigned site templates for the home, department, HR and knowledge sites.
- New web parts: news slideshow, call to action, quote and contact table.
- Header and footer designs, with the option to keep SharePoint's own header and footer on a site.
2.2 — install without typing commands

- Guided setup that installs the intranet without typing PowerShell commands.
Setup.cmdinstalls PowerShell 7 and PnP.PowerShell when they are missing.- The provisioning engine is unchanged: it still plans each change before making it, can be re-run safely, and checks the site afterwards.
Upgrading from 2.1Updates only add things: new columns, views and settings are added, and nothing is removed or renamed. New modules are opt-in for each site. The steps in the Deployment article still apply.
